Oxygen Therapy
There is now new evidence that Oxygen Therapy can help regenerate tissue and heal problem wounds. In New Zealand, if you are eligible for funding, you can have Oxygen Therapy through public health. You need to get a referal form and take it to your surgeon, and hopefully he will sign it for you! If you are succesful in getting funding, the treatment will then start, and it runs for 2 hours Monday to Friday for 6 weeks.

I have never heard of this — does it seem to be helping?

Yes! It helped me a lot. There’s not a lot of evidence as yet of how well it works, but it’s definately worked for a lot of people. There were other patients having it who had skin grafts, or ulcers, or abcesses, and it was working for them. The oxygen regenerates tissue and helps wounds to heal up. So it has to be good for you in some way. I felt like it was helping me to heal for sure.

Heya, yes they have Hyperbaric Health in Australia, perhaps give them a call and talk to them about it. In NZ you can apply for funding, I’m not sure what the rules are in Australia, but they will be able to tell you on the phone. Here’s the contact details – http://www.hyperbarichealth.com/contacts.html
